Digital Art & Design Educator | Multimedia & Branding Expert
Shu Chun Kimi Liu is Digital Art & Design teacher at a NYC CTE high school and a first-year Transitional A certified educator with over 30 years of leadership experience in the multimedia and branding industry.
She is passionate about bringing real-world creative expertise into the classroom and preparing the next generation of designers to shape the future of visual communication.
She earned her Master’s degree in Computer Art from the School of Visual Arts. Throughout her career, she has been invited to lead the design of high-profile digital experiences, including a complex mobile hub template for P&G’s “Thank You, Mom” campaign initiative during the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games Opening Ceremonies.
Kimi is also a published children’s book author and illustrator. She developed an innovative interactive game publication paired with a corresponding illustrated children’s book designed to support learning through play. This project gained recognition from Creative Child Publishing and helped M.O.G. Pretendables™ earn a total of nine Preferred Choice Awards. Her illustrated children’s book “Mirando y Mirando” has been collected for display at the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico.
She began her career as a professional animator, working for nine consecutive years with major studios including Hanna-Barbera, Disney Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Her credits include numerous TV animation series and animated films such as Aladdin and The Little Mermaid. Her thesis 3D animated film, “Outhouse,” was selected for the 6th Annual New York Digital Salon.
