About This Lesson

To address the increasing use of AI and a corresponding decline in students' critical thinking and analytical skills, I proposed a revised assessment method for the research investigation paper.

This approach shifts evaluation from the final product to the entire research process. Students will be assessed on each stage of their work, including brainstorming, the development of their research, and the evaluation and application of their sources, culminating in the final essay.

To maintain academic integrity and prevent the sharing of questions between different sections, I developed three distinct versions of the process-based assessment. These variations provide unique pathways for students while maintaining equivalent learning objectives, ensuring a fair and secure evaluation environment.
